Summer!!!! The season we have all been waiting for... how is it AUGUST already?! It's no secret that summer in Chicago can leave you hot and sticky and in need of the lightest-weight, most breathable outfits that can take you from the pool to the bar or street fest in minutes. Over here at Fenton Fox, we're huge fans of dressing for the vacation you need. There's no need to save that cute swimwear for vacation... wear it now! We've put together a handful of cute looks to incorporate your bikinis right into your outfit. We want you to look hot ( but not sweaty! ), pack less, and spend more time enjoying the sun this summer, whether you're taking that vacation or not!

Go Bold!

 Pair that shit with a skirt you'd typically save for evening to contrast the casual vibe of wearing swim on a regular day. We got wild and mixed patterns and textures to create a truly unique yet comfortable AF style. This thrifted skirt is plenty breezy and the elastic waist allows room for food at the street fair or that lovely bar bloat ;). The platform sandals and mini bag keep the look slightly elevated and fun but still casual and comfy summer.

Summer is a time for fun, color, patterns and unexpeced pairings. For those of you less comfortable with midriff, pop on a denim vest or a button up tied at the waist. This swim top is perfect for concealing cleavage so with any top layered on, you could even pull this off at work. Now is the time to wear things that make you smile. Don't worry, navy blue and burgundy... winter will be here before we know it.

This is a reallllllly easy one.

Step 1: bikini. This one is the same top as above on its reversed hot pink side. Yup! Our Vieques collection is REVERSIBLE!

Step 2: shorts. We chose black, but denim ( or anything ) works!

Step 3: toss on shear dress or top. This one is thrifted- you can find these anywhere from Buffalo Exchange to Salvation Army. Sometimes there will be a slip attached... just cut it out!

Step 5: You'll probably need shoes. Chanel chose slip on vans to keep the look casual. 

Super easy, this look can be taken straight from the beach to the bar with just one extra swipe of deodorant. For you beach goths who hate color, try this one with the Banderas Bandeau top in black.

Keep it FOXY!

Nothing is foxier than our Esperanza Crop Top. With it's mixed pattern, we love pairing this top with a simpler bottom. This vintage western inspired skirt does just the trick!

When you're headed to a classic Chicago street fest or music festival, this pairing will keep you cool during the day, with room to pop on a lightweight jacket or sweater at night... With slight western vibe, this is the least "beachy" of the looks. Just be aware all the looks and compliments you're going to get. This one's a real head-turner. Chanel opted for a shoulder-fanny pack thing with this one but it didn't make it into the shot. Whatever. You get it.

OVERALLS!

When in doubt, take a note from our friend Kim and toss on your favorite vintage overalls over our Vieques halter top! It really doesn't get much easier and you can eat until your heart is content without a worry. 

 Lighten up this summer and ban the bra! Wear swimwear! Dress like you're on vacation! You deserve it!
